When you pick a life insurance policy, you should make sure that it covers you for anything that might happen even when you are traveling. Some policies do not specify this or only apply to the country where you took the policy out, so you would do well to find a company that covers you even if you are abroad. This is not to say that you should not take out travel insurance as well if you plan to go to another country for a vacation or work, but when you are in a foreign hotel, then you never know what kind of situations you could find yourself in. For instance, you might be in a hotel fire and if the building does not have proper insurance your family would have no recompense if you did not have a life insurance policy to protect you.

Going abroad can be risky

Going abroad can be risky for a number of reasons — planes always crash, there are car accidents especially in countries where the drivers are very aggressive and you can be exposed to dangerous diseases such as malaria or dengue fever. But you can be covered for all of this if  you take out a good travel insurance policy that also covers you for death events.

Even if you are only traveling to a local or a regional conference, and you will be staying in a strange hotel that you do not know much about, having a good travel policy that also protects you with life insurance can be a great blessing.

Whatever you decide on, make certain that you take the concept of life insurance seriously and as a very important responsibility as you do not want to be one of those people who leave behind a family in poverty if anything untoward happens to them.

While we’re busy looking for the cheapest flights and cheapest hotels, we often gloss over another important part to travel – travel insurance! Travel insurance is possibly the least exciting aspect of organising your holiday, it is for me anyway. So it comes at no surprise that when I am planning my trip, travel insurance is an after thought that is pushed aside until I have to actually do something about it.

So what is cheap travel insurance all about? Well. I have an insiders tip for you… you may already have travel insurance! therefore, this is the cheapest possible. What I am talking about is your credit card, often with some credit cards they come with travel insurance. Mostly, these cards are either Rewards Credit Cards, Frequent Flyer Credit Cards or Gold or Platinum cards. If you book your flight using this credit card you can also get travel insurance cover. It’s best to check the details with your bank before making assumptions you’re covered and have the right cover. But it’s a bonus to think you may not have to pay for travel insurance because of this.

Of course, if you do not have a credit card with travel insurance then do a good search for travel insurance and see if you can find a comparison website. These are great tools to discovering the cheapest deals around.
